For the last week or so, I notice the little thumbnails along the right side of Youtube's layout - there is a lot of nudity.

I even saw some sex scenes.  I haven't searched for anything like that (for the main reason is I thought YouTube didnt have anything like that)

But lately, I am noticiing instances of it, regardless of what I am looking @.

I understand (somewhat) the algorithm used to show similar videos on the right column - so I can see how it is a mix of a variety of things I look @ on YouTube, but it just seems to always have nudity in it lately.

Has the policy changed, or are the interweb gods telling me Im a perv ?

Anyone else notice this ?

Here is a quick example (I covered up the nips and pubic area so it wouldnt get censored from neo mods)  hopefully

Captureer.JPG

It will pop up in nearly every search string (meaning it has probably been adopted into my search algorithm) OR .. they are all over the place !   BOOBS !!!

Nudity and sex have generally been disallowed in Youtube for like ever

Of course you can still find it, won't get pulled till it's reported, plus there's a lot of troll accounts that post thumbnails with "nudity" in it to get clicks, but nothing in the actual videos

Question is, what were you searching for that got these suggestions on your feed

Yeah i notice it too, most of the time they would appear on "Recently uploaded" or "Recommended videos for you".

But i don't see the point, as free porn video websites are abundant these days and they usually did not have in-video ads-clips, unlike YT..,

You'd be surpised. I have had them show up for "golf babe videos," when I am looking for PGA highlights. I have never once searched youtube for anything provacative, we have google for that, yet I get these random thumbnails. Another example is "hot babes in fast cars, reaction videos" which show up after some time of browsing street racing videos.

Funny thing is, nothing directly related to nudity - I can see patterns, and see how it might work its way in due to their SE algorithms - (that title/topic of the nude thumb video might have something in common with a topic I looked @)

But like others mentioned, if I was going to look for something like that - I wouldnt do it in YouTube.  maybe PornTube, RedTube, or .....  ohh whoops

You looked at some similar sex related video, now you're getting recommendations, it's normal.

The very naughty thumbs get deleted within hours, Google has people working on these since forever.

Not searched directly, but sometimes I can see a common topic, others, the nudity in the thumbnail doesnt make sense.

I just never noticed it until now - so I thought either (a) its new  (b)  I never noticed it before (c) there is some crumb of a cookie which is causing these recessed vids to come through (d) there is a god, and he likes me.

( (d) cant be true - so it has to be one of the others)

If its for breast feeding they allow it. There's videos out there that show full on frontal nudity  but because its about breast feeding it was allowed. I dont know if its still up or not but I stumbled on it once.

I like how I'll watch a video on something mundane like what tools to use to cut a rock and half of the thumbnails on the right will be women's asses. I don't see the relationship.

Usually those videos get a ton of dislikes because they bait people in.

    • Threads scales past half a billion users, brings deeper community and feed controls by Fiza Ali Meta has announced Threads crossing a major milestone of 500 million monthly active users. And, at the heart of this growth sits something simple: communities. From books to basketball, parenting to music, Threads says its rise has been powered by people clustering around shared interests and, in turn, giving the platform its identity. In response, the platform is expanding its Communities feature beyond beta and introducing a set of new tools designed to make participation easier and more engaging. A redesigned Communities Hub will now appear in the main navigation menu, allowing users to jump between groups without leaving their feed. Each community will also receive a distinct Community Icon, giving them clearer visual identity and making them easier to recognise across the platform. Then there’s Community Progress, which is a kind of live gauge showing how close a topic is to becoming a full-fledged community, alongside guidance on how users can contribute to its development. In addition, Meta is also expanding its Community Champions programme, recognising more users who actively contribute to community engagement. And then things go more local; Local Communities is already available in 100 countries, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe but are now rolling out with native-language tags starting in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The platform is also expanding Live Chats to more communities in the coming weeks, adding features such as co-hosting and the ability to quote moments directly into users’ feeds. Beyond communities, Meta is tightening the loop between users and their feeds. Earlier this year came "Dear Algo," a feature that lets people tell Threads what they want more or less of. Now it’s being paired with a new tool, "Your Algo." It allows people to adjust how frequently certain topics appear, with options lasting one, three, or seven days. Meta says these preferences remain private and can be managed alongside “Dear Algo” in a unified settings hub. The rollout begins in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Finally, the company says these changes are part of an ongoing effort to refine Threads based on user feedback and that further updates will continue as the platform evolves.
