Downloaded and converted to Windowblinds. I must say this is a nice looking theme. I can't stand Lucida font anyway so no issues there for me.

I've tweaked it a little bit, moved the caption buttons to the left side and added a system menu button on the right. It looks good so far.

By the way I know it's offtopic but the Msstyle -> Windowblinds converter is gettin pretty good. Here's a shot of what I have so far. The shellstyles didn't import that well just need a little touching up.

Thanks for your hard work, I've been looking for an accurate OSX theme to use.

Thanks all.

@Davebo: Y'z shadow settings are included in the theme .zip. They are in the Y'z shadow folder, in the .ini file.

@adamp2p: ofcourse man, tell me which one though.

As far as Iceman's fonts are concerned, this theme uses most of his Jaguar style font settings (Jaguar 2.01).

Icons, captionbar, startmenu are all exact duplicates of Iceman's Jaguar 2.01.

Do you mean the dialog buttons?, they are 1 size larger than Iceman's and are shadowed. See if you can goto my three-drives.deviantart.com page, and download the previous version of this theme (3.3) that has smaller dialog button fonts, is that what you mean?

The way the fonts are at the moment, they are the closest (using these fonts) that they can be to real osx 10.3.

But, I could (in a future release) include a "compatibility" version if you want.

Yes, the ones that Iceman put into his 2.01 I really like.

Or I am sure you have seen Timdorr's OSX port (the one at themexp.org).[ http://www.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=377 ]

The way his fonts look, is the absolute best I have ever seen. The buttons on that version absolutely suck compared to yours, though.

Thanks for listening, TD!

Oh, and yes, I mean the dialog buttons. Look great!

Yeah, there's a nice theme by Max Rudberg called Mac OS XP, which adds luna-style appearance to OSX 10.1 and up. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I've seen screenshots and it doesn't look that bad, if you're a fan of the Luna look.

:: grins at KoL ::

@TD, I'm really not trying to bash you or your work, I just don't think it's fair that you held out on the entire community, drumming TD 4.0 up into something it really shouldn't have been. As well as the previous inconsistencies that I mentioned, there's no icon pack, no ObjectDock background, no WindowFX Shadow preset, no OS X User Pictures (something I'm STILL looking for - too lazy to extract it from Panther myself), and various other things that would have justified the hype that TD 4.0 was given...

Just my 50 pence.

Damn what a jerk !! you have to think about something he's doing this for free !! get off you lazy ass and do them yourself !

@Adamp2p:

... hmmm, Are you sure that was the correct link? I applied that theme, but the button font wasn't aqua style,... it was just the standard windows XP tahoma button font?

I could release a version of my theme with standard XP fonts though...

Three drives, I am talking about the fonts in the title bar/menus. Thanks for looking.

The active/inactive title bar says "Lucida sans unicode"

The menu says "Lucida sans unicode" as well.

Do you see it?

Thanks :)

I do.

@ DeanoBear, thanks for the suggestion, but "Transformation Packs" are the single thing i hate the most in the skinning world. Installing reshacked DLLs? Thanks, but nothx.

As far as resources concerns go, they're non-existant, as I'm running a Dual Xeon 2.4 w/ 2Gb of DDR :)

I'd rather use a few apps (although not WindowBlinds - different reasons) to get my system looking perfect.

Ok, how about this:

Why risk getting shut down by Apple? If you're going to pour your heart and soul into something, why not make something orignial?

Mike

lol if apple was to stop this theme they would have to go and get EVERY THEME ported or made

and i really dont see them doing that

There's a lot more to making a theme look perfect than just installing a theme file, there's other programs as well you need, like y'z dock or object dock, custom shell.dll files or icon replacement programs such as IconPackager... you need those to make it look like the preview.

If you're just new to themes, icons, docks, etc... have a good read through the forums, there's a wealth of information and heaps of ideas and links. And there's always someone ready to give you a few tips and pointers too :)

Sure man,

If you go here:

http://www.jonmega.com/~iceman/vs/install_instructions.php

There are a lot of things you can download, like the system files, etc, and it's explained really well.

The progress bar animation (barber pole) is by susumu search for it at the www.aqua-soft.org forums. It installs in your shell32.dll bitmaps 160-165, (just use reshacker it's easy). But download the "new" shell32.dll from the above site first as it incorporates a lot of the Aqua elements/icons. (It just doesn't have the barber pole.)

As for icons:

http://www.jonmega.com/modules.php?name=Do...wdownload&cid=4

Has all the Aqua icons you could ever want!!

But I don't recommend using iconpackager or any other external app, (unless your a noob, in which case they're invaluable.)

I recommend using reshacker.

Or use Icemans ready made ones linked above..

And that's all there's to it,...

    • Microsoft's new Xbox Shutdown change promises massive power efficiency gains by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft has been delivering a lot of changes for Xbox Insiders to test in recent weeks, and today, another wave of changes aimed at consoles was announced. The latest drop is testing features that let users find mutual friends easier, customize their UI, and streamline wishlisting. When looking at an Xbox friend's profile, an option will appear to see mutual friends, perhaps to get a refresher on how you know that person. This will depend on the privacy settings. The same applies to when checking the profile of a person who is not in the friends list, offering a quick way to find out if this is a known connection. Next, Microsoft is giving the option to change how the 'Home' and 'Games & Apps' sections show off available games. There is a new poster style that users can enable for an "immersive library experience." "We’ve also made personalization settings easier to navigate and customize by separating Home and My Games & apps into separate sections," adds the company. "And to make personalization even more accessible, we’ve added new shortcuts throughout menus, so you can quickly jump in and tailor your XBOX experience the way you want." Moreover, heading to the store page of an unreleased game will now offer players the option to wishlist directly from the game card. Lastly, Microsoft is making a change to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles that are in Sleep mode, making them use the more energy-saving 'Shutdown' mode instead automatically. The company says this can increase power savings by up to 20 times without impacting "performance, gameplay, or your ability to receive system, games or apps updates overnight." The only down side seems to be a longer startup time that can take up to 45 seconds. The setting was originally introduced in 2023, and this is only the latest update to it. The power option can be changed from the console settings at any time. This Xbox Insider update is rolling out today to select members of the program. As usual, Microsoft aims to bring it to more Insiders over time before they reach all Xbox owners. Head here to find out how to join the Xbox Insider Program to get a chance to test these features and upcoming ones on both consoles and PC.
    • 2 was a fun game but felt a bit shallow, like not enough there. I hope this expansion fixes that.
