The specific term for what you're looking to setup is an NTP Server.  Are you more comfortable using Windows Server or Linux for this?

Huh??  What timezone would be 14 minutes ahead??  Never heard of such a timezone.. There are some timezones that are 30 minutes off, but never heard of 1 that is 14 minutes off.

But Jamieakers is correct, sure sounds like your looking to setup ntp server.  If you want/need to create a custom timezone that is 14 minutes off - you could do that..

yer, if your windows centric and your talking AD domain//forest.

I always make a DC the authoritative time source.

You could then display a web based "clock" using it or the authoritative time source you point your DC to.

im confused with the 14min offset though :)

We have 2 authoritative time sources at work, the one we start by (the phones as they are always 5 mins out) and everyone goes home via PC time lol :p

@neufuse What tz is 1:45 off??  IRAN is +4:30,  There are some others in Asia that are +5:30 and +5:45.  Asia/Pyongyang is +830, AU has one that is +8:45 as well..

Guess you can get 15, 30 and 45 and such depending on what tz you compare them too.  But yeah 14???  Makes no sense..   And if you create a custom one your prob going to have issues with those devices.

If you want some help setting up ntp, or a server - even stratum 1 just let me know.  Kind of hobby of mine ;)  I run a stratum 1 for ntp pool for fun, etc.  Can be done for a small budget for sure.. I put mine together for less than $100 with a raspberry pi and gps for it..

You can see it keeps pretty freaking good time.. the offset is in microseconds..  the ntpq shows the offset in milliseconds..

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay real humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
    • whoosh my comment went over your head. Enjoy your notchless 3:2 OLED device
    • As a game dev, today was really depressing. They announced that Blueprints will be deprecated in UE6 to be fully replaced by their sh**ty Python-like Verse language... They also announced that 5.8 will be the last version of UE5 until UE6 comes out in MID 2029!!!! They have completely lost the plot.
