guide Getting the best from Precision XOC and your NV Series.

Hey up, just a short guide for anyone wishing to adjust not only performance mode but fan speeds and on EVGA cards, accessing the extra clock boosts supported by EVGA warranty  more is good right? 

 

Grab the latest Precision X program from either steam or EVGA directly with your account.

• Pre 9 Series card, grab the legacy Precision X. 
• 9 Series onwards, grab the newer X OC edition. 
• Install it.
   

At first the interface can seem to be a touch confusing.

 

 

General Program Settings

 

In the main window click the white gear cog (prog settings in image above)

• Click the General Tab.
• I personally set check daily for update and start with windows and minimised.
• I dont touch overvoltage or overboost. 
• Click Ok.
   

Temperature linked Fan speed

 

•  Click the icon with the Fan Settings (fan & curve)
• In the sub window that opens ensure the Fan tab is highlighted.
• Set Enable Auto Fan control
• then select custom preset
• Before clicking ok go to the opened subwindow with the fan curve.
• For silent windows and good cooling in game with an acceptable fan noise level i set the following.
   

 

Click OK on the previous window in Fan tab to set your new fan configuration.

 

GPU clock Offset and Memclock Offset 

 

These two sliders affect the boost mode levels ingame and with K Boost mode on EVGA cards. I find the sweet spot for memory and core on my model is around 125% on both, but mine is a SSC model, so your mileage may vary.

 

Once you have it set, click Apply to set the new rates.

 

You should see your memory clock increase by said amount (your core will use the offset boost when it goes into 3D mode)

 

 

Gone from 3505 to 3628Mhz on memory core.

 

EVGA Feature (K Boost)

 

to enable a factory set overclock plus the manual boost we set earlier, it couldn't be easier (and supported under EVGAs superb warranties) 

 

• Click the white K (listed as K boost setting on first image)
• If it can enable, youll see the screen go blank a second and a new device sound. 
• If it states it cant, close the programs via task mgr thats stopping it.

 

When the display is re-enabled, you should now see your card in fixed performance mode clocked to the new levels we have set in K boost and offsets.

 

 

When your not gaming and just in windows, disable K boost mode to revert to windows power schemes and clock speeds.

 

End result a card boosted by a decent amount and an optimised fan speed.
