JoseKreif
Here is a quick explanation of the network. I have 2 networks connected together. One network is located in Kansas as 192.168.2.x The other is located in Iowa as 192.168.0.x These 2 networks can communicate with each other. This much is working correctly, and has been for more than 10 years. ... I have setup a new wireless printer at the Kansas location with manual IP settings IP ADDR: 192.168.2.23 SUBNET: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.2.1 --- From my location in Iowa, I can connect to the printer, ping the printer, and even print to the printer. From the Kansas location, they can neither see, connect, ping, or print with the server. It's like it's invisible entirely. --- If I can print to the printer from another Geo-location, and network, something must be wrong somewhere, I'm not sure where to begin. +Gary7 Subscriber² Posted February 10, 2017 Subscriber² Share Posted February 10, 2017 So this has been working and just stopped? Maybe there is a network problem in Kansas?? JoseKreif
The network is fine. The printer isn't working on the network in Kansas, though. I can ping and connect to everything on the network over there, and they can connect back to me. This one printer however that was just setup today is troublesome. It would be more believable if I couldn't interact with the printer instead of vice versa. After all the printer is directly on the Kansas network, Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1322044-wireless-printer-accessable-from-different-network-but-not-the-local-network/#findComment-597787390 Share on other sites
sc302 Veteran Posted February 10, 2017 Veteran Share Posted February 10, 2017 Are you sure the local network is 255.255.255.0 on the kansas side of things? Or that the vpn tunnel is set to 255.255.255.0 to route or allow through. xendrome
Might need a little more info on how the two networks are connected. JoseKreif
Problem solved. With some troubleshooting, I was able to determine the fault was with the AP. The Printer was connected to a wireless access point which was unfortunately setup to isolate devices within and between the SSID. I have reconfigured this access point and it has resolved the issue with the printer. This will likely solve any issues for future devices added to this access point. Thank you all for taking the time to respond.
