0 pimpshiznid
I think you can use some kind of dvd ripping software to put the dvd video and audio on your hard drive, then convert that video to mpg with a converter, then bring it into VDub and save only the audio as mp3. Take the mp3 file, splice out what you don't want with Cool Edit, then take it into Windows Media Encoder, and convert the mp3(s) into wmv(s) Now mind you, the conversion of the dvd video to mpg can take up to 8 hours, depending on the speed of your computer. 0 NeoMayhem
bd4go rips to AIFF or Wave, then you can use WMP Bonus Pack to convert to WMA ;) Or use iTunes to convert it to AAC ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132358-convert-dvd-audio-to-wma/#findComment-1606624 Share on other sites

0 MxxCon
just use exactaudiocopy. it'll rip into wav or anythign else as long as you have the matching encoder. not dvd.. hercxena, rip dvd to hd, however make sure you uncheck video streams, menus, other languages and that only desired audio stream is checked. then you'll need to use dvd2avi to extract .ac3 from .vob files, and then BeSweet to convert ac3 to wav all guides and info can be found at www.doom9.org :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132358-convert-dvd-audio-to-wma/#findComment-1606698 Share on other sites
0 hercxena
A question about the audio stream, I read the how to faq and was wondering which audio track to get since the dvd I am looking at for the vob file has 2 audio tracks. Or is a trial and error thing to rip both audio tracks and listen to them to find which one I need. Thanx for your help, Matt Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132358-convert-dvd-audio-to-wma/#findComment-1608651 Share on other sites
0 MxxCon
tracks are usually titled..so i guess you wouldn't want "commentary" or "french" tracks. if they are not titled then it's obviously trial and error :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132358-convert-dvd-audio-to-wma/#findComment-1609644 Share on other sites
0 Justin03248
You need to use a program called besweet and convert the ac3 file to 6 different wave files. Then go to WM Encoder and select "files" as the source, and browse for the wav files you've just extracted. There's a catch though... besweet only works correctly if you extract a whole DVD movie. If you try and extract a certain chapter from a DVD movie, then convert that ac3 file to 6 wavs, besweet will give you corrupted sound. This is the only way to get 5.1 sound. Other people's suggestion would result in a stero wma file... Download besweet at www.doom9.org Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/132358-convert-dvd-audio-to-wma/#findComment-1609661 Share on other sites
