USB HDD Not working in media player but works in everything else

Hi,

 

This might sound completely ridiculous but I have a 1TB HDD which i put into a USB 3.0 enclosure a while back.  I've decided to use it for media files and to use it with my Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2+ media player.

I've got other hard drives that work fine on the player and other devices but for whatever reason, whenever i plug this in, it is detected but wont show me any files that are on there.  My laptop and Xbox One both display the files fine.  I have tried reformatting the drive to NTFS, tried it as Exfat too incase that was any different but to no avail.  I've checked the drive in a partition manager program to make sure it appears to be the same as the other working drives (i.e. primary partition not logical, etc) but they are identical.

Any ideas?

May be a long shot, but did you try formatting it in that one machine it won't work with? Does it show up in Device Manager?

 

Do all the systems use the same version of Windows?

All my computers do but the media player runs its own OS (not android based though)

Depends on file format support on the device 

Like Mind mentioned, if the device can see the drive, try formatting it on it
