How can I sync Outlook with Galaxy S8?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I'm an Outlook user and I need to sync it with my Galaxy S8+. The thing is I used Smart Switch with my old S6 but when I upgraded to S8 it started to duplicate my addressbook.  I can't get the reason since I use it for years and have never had similar issues. Now I'm struggling to find a workaround on how to sync Outlook with my smartphone or make Smart Switch work again. Any help is appreciated.

If you use outlook as your email app on android, which is what I do, then it will sync your outlook contacts to the android contacts app.  This is the way I do it right now.

Which app are you using to access your Outlook account? Are you using the Outlook app, or the Samsung email app, or something entirely different?

EDIT: Oh hang on, or are you referring to contact information in your phonebook?

I have no apps installed, it's on my phonebook.

The thing is my calendar events syncs flawlessly, the problem is with contacts only.

You should be able to go to Contacts > Select the three dots > Settings.

Here there should be an option to select which contacts are shown, you need to select Outlook here. Should limit the contacts displayed to Outlook and any updates should be made to your Outlook contacts only.

Hopefully that's what you were referring to.

I think while using smart switch your address book contacts & Outlook contacts both got added to your phonebook. What you can do now-

Go to contacts ->Menu ->Contacts to Display

From here, you can select the particular account, the contacts of which you want to be displayed.

After this, your phonebook will show the contacts of the selected account only rather than the duplicates.
