My Xbox 360 Setup

I have a Samsung 26" LCD HDTV, next to the 360 is my Media Center, green Xbox on the other side, Sony DVD Recorder/VCR under the TV, plus you can see a Gamecube and Playstation 2 at the very bottom. What you can't see is sitting behind the TV and that's the Logitech 2.1 200W speakers I use :) Currently the 360 optical is hooked into the MC's Audigy 2 and outputs via the speakers, the rest of the stuff comes from the TV's RCA audio out and into the Audigy 2 to be outputted to the speakers. I just wish I had more room to space things out and put them where I want them too, oh well, this will do for now. I just wish themes were free for the 360. =P

Holy :| lol :)

Well wow, if you guys consider that setup to be Jesus' setup then I'm a happy camper. I have a Samsung 61" HDTV DLP, but alas.... No 360 just yet.

Is it the 62HMX85? Cause I have the same TV then :)

I hope your 360 doesn't over heat. I don't think it's a good idea to have it crammed into the bottom of that tv stand.

Honestly, despite the class action lawsuit and other things brought on by the people with the overheating XBox 360 systems, I think the media and mass relay of information of the internet hyped up the pandemonium of the XBox launch problems. (Not to mention, a handful of cases is enough cases, for sure.)

I know four people, besides me who have the XBox 360 and just speaking to people online when playing stuff like Project Dark Zero--it doesn't seem as if the problem is so widespread. At first I thought that maybe MSFT was trying to make it seem insignificant with the term of 'small percentage' used, but I don't think it's too farfetched, seeing that my experiences with others has showed that it really isn't prevalent within those around me in the real world and those whom I've encountered and befriended on Xbox 360 LIVE.

I'll have to check that, but I know that mine is different from threedaysdwn. Mine has a larger bottom area (where the speaker is) and in general seems larger. Possibly because if I remember right, I got it earlier this year... I think the one he has is a newer model.

*goes to check model*

Okay so this helps... The back of the TV says: Feb 2004 Model: HLN617W

I know the overheating issue isn't as wide spread as the media is making it out to be...however the 360 does need ample breathing room to keep it cool. It would be tragic for it to smoke considering how damn hard it is to get them.

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
