hey GT, which theme do you use for your dashboard. it's really sweet. I'm getting bored with my PGR3 one :(

That looks like the default Xbox360 theme, only the colours are really screwy. Might be the TV? Or just the digital camera that took the picture.

I could be wrong though. Isn't there a customize feature for the blades?

Dazzla, good choice of DVD player - OPPO OPDV971H Digital HD-Ready Up-Converting DVD Player.

Do you recommend I purchase it now or wait for the new HD DVD players?

I heard its a great DVD player, only it doesn't feature HDMI (so you'll need to buy an HDMI>DVI cable). It also seems a bit too pricey so I'm not too enthusiastic about it. I'm going to wait until either the next generation of upscaling DVD player's is out, or until the HD-DVD players are out.

Until then I'm using a modded xbox and upscaling to 720p for DVD's. It's not bad, but the component video doesn't even come close to VGA (and DVI/HDMI will be even better I'm assuming), not to mention it isn't designed for upscaling dvd's so it won't include many visual enhancements.

I'm really hoping Microsoft patches the 360 DVD to enable upscaling, it certainly has the power to do it.

A patch to enable upscaling would be awesome (accessible download via XBOX Live) but is it even possible since the 360 does not have HDMI?

It's the glass theme. ;)

Oh you never know, MS could release a DVI/HDMI cable if they want.

Upscaling isn't an HDMI specific feature. Component/SCART/VGA/DVI/HDMI are all capable of upscaling.. Upscaling is simply taking a 480i/480p (or whatever it happens to be) source video and displaying it at a higher resolution (and thus stretching the image to fit the higher resolution). Maybe HDMI does this "stretching" natively and doesn't require the device to do it, but even the xbox can handle it (since I use my modded xbox to watch dvd's at 720p), so of course the 360 could do it.

    • "...a low price of just $340..." I don't think it means what you think it means.
    • This Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 32GB RAM with RGB is a great deal for limited time by Sayan Sen Memory prices have been through the roof for a while, though it seems like things might finally be getting better. • The very fact that a TPM (v2.0 specifically which is part of the issue I suspect) is now a baseline for any supported Windows installation will naturally mean other vendors will start to leverage it as they know it'll be there. It's called progress, and it's always been the way. A TPM isn't a windows thing, it's just a module designed to securely store keys. Secure boot isn't a Windows thing (although MS are the TCA as I recall hence the upheaval this year as the 2011 certs expire), it's just a way to verify a bootloader is signed. Windows simply leverages them.
    • It's a local account with the ability to reset a password at a very base level. I really don't get the issue that gets whipped up around it But you do you
