[OFFICIAL] Gaming Setups Thread (PC & Console)

If you used those sharp falcon eyes of yours, you'd notice i added a ":p" smiley to my original post, meaning it was probably a light hearted joke - Then he chooses to misunderstand it and get offended, plus you have to add a comment as well ( Why? ). Then I might as well act like the angry douche you're apparently making me out to be.

Yes, clearly that is the case. Because, you know, it's absolutely impossible that I was just trying to make the guy understand it's not a big deal by giving the " ;) " smiley to my original post, meaning it was a light-hearted joke. But he got offended and you chose to insult him further.

Yes, clearly you were being sarcastic the whole time. That's why you chose to act like a jerk even after he misinterpreted your post, instead of saying "I'm only kidding man, it's all good :)" or something along those lines. ;)

Whatever you say Ayepecks ;)

Alienware is a status symbol.

Agreed. And you're right, I know I could have built my own computer for cheaper and potentially better results. However I'm not THAT into gaming, here and there, but nothing I would want to update my hardware constantly to stay ahead of the curve. What's top of the line in 6 months will be better than what is now, if you have the wallet for that I salute you, however, this has been the best computer (as well as tech support!) I have owned and I am quite happy. :]

To all concerned: I wasn't offended. On the contrary I felt I was on the defense. I'd still like to know where you're finding those frame-rates as benchmark. I'd also like to know what average your talking about. Surely not the average computer user (such as dell's demographic). Perhaps the average pc gamer? Even then I find it hard to agree that there is even a way of measuring computer to income ratio.. or game requirements to amount of playing. Yadda...

For my income to computer price ratio (as a college student) this computer is far, far above my peers price tag.

What Gundam is that on top of the Antec 900?! :D

Audioboxer: Do you leave your PS3 on all the time (with the red light on) like that? Or do you actually push the on/off switch at the back of the system. I heard it's not as good for the system if it's not completely turned off (by hitting the switch at the back)

    • Microsoft released new Defender update for Windows 11, 10, Server ISO installations by Sayan Sen Microsoft releases new Windows Defender update packages very frequently to protect against various newly discovered malware. Once a while every three months or so, the company also pushes out these updates to Windows images (WIM and VHD) and ISOs, that are used to install Windows. Hence with the newest Windows 11 update available via the official MCT tool, you should get these definitions. This update package is necessary as a Windows installation image may contain old, outdated anti-malware definitions and software binaries. Aside from better security, these updates can also provide improved performance benefits in some cases. When a new Windows installation is set up, there may be a temporary security risk due to outdated Microsoft Defender protection in the OS installation images. This happens because the antimalware software included in these images might not be up to date. Thus Microsoft says that these updated definitions essentially help close this protection gap. Microsoft delivered the latest security definitions for Windows images via security intelligence update version 1.445.323.0. The Defender package version is also the same. It applies to Windows 11, Windows 10 ESU, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, Win 10 Ent LTSC 2019, Win 10 Ent LTSB 2016, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft writes: "This package updates the anti-malware client, anti-malware engine, and signature versions in the OS installation images to following versions: Platform version: 4.18.26040.7 Engine version: 1.1.26040.8 Security intelligence version: 1.447.236.0" From Microsoft's security bulletin, we learn that the security intelligence update version 1.447.236.0 was released early last month and adds threat detections for various malware like trojan, backdoor exploits, ransomware, stealers, AutoKMS, and more. For those wondering, the latest intelligence update is version 1.451.297.0 at the time of writing.
