[OFFICIAL] Gaming Setups Thread (PC & Console)

Gundam wing was my favorite.

Of course I never really watched any other, but that's what I grew up with.

It was my first also and my favorite for a long time until I watched the Universal Century era then I really fell in love that.

LOL @ Audioboxer: Lovin your setup by the way very "Sony Style"

You really have to get another signature. It seems as if Chrome is your porn browser and Firefox your normal one.

Nah I use Chrome alot for forums I visit occasionally and just allow them to sit there.

Alienware is a status symbol. Keep the case, upgrade the computer. You can build a full rig with x2 Radeon 4830's Crossfire and a Q6600 for under $600. That, of course, if better than what you have. I applaud you for having enough money for an Alienware, but just build your PC's. You won't have to fast for the next month after you purchase it that way ;)

Even if you are afraid to build, there are many independent websites that build them for a good price (well, a lot less than Alienware!).

Visit imageshack, public photo's of my console(s) setup.

(Warning very very crappy motorola razr v3, vga camera phone...)

Recently modded my xbox360 Lian-Li setup.

The noise level has been reduced from "jet takeoff" (original) to "noisy" (lian-li standard) to "silent" (thank you silentxbox.com).

And with the install to HDD option in the dashboard, it's xbox360 playin' as it should've been from the launch.

To bad the noctua opteron coolers (I used 2) are around ?55,- a piece.

Idea wasn't original, I came across this swedish/english site and decided to try it myself on my launch xbox360. (older than 3 years anyway)

Another benefit is that the xbox's exhaust isn't hot anymore, even after playing all day during the holidays.

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
