[OFFICIAL] Gaming Setups Thread (PC & Console)

Amazing setup, but I have a question.

How do the people on the back sofa see the TV properly are the people at the front midgets and the people at the back giants?

I believe the back sofa is raised, it's hard to see to what extent in the picture though.

But of course, anyone really tall will just be relegated to the back.

I also assume the projector eye level starts a wee bit higher also to compensate for the people behind.

Impressive Boz, wish I could afford all that stuff, just looking at your bluray collection makes me weep already.

Yeah the money that went into that set up and collection must be crazy.

good stuff boz, hows that projector, is it much worse than Lcd or Plasma? I've been thinking of getting one. Few of my friends have HD projectors, but none of them look to impressive, they look alright with the light off. Any recommendations?

Well you don't want to use projector as your primary viewing device because the costs of replacing light bulbs is not that cheap and you really get 2000-3000 hours per light bulb.

The quality is just as good as any TV i have in the house, however it depends mostly on 2 factors. 1 is your screen material and size of course but more importantly the level of light you have in the room. If your room is completely light controlled (dark) when you watch it, my project pushes out picture that is on par with my Pioneer Elite in the living room, especially with this Sony HW-10 projector. Great blacks and contrast.

Projectors are not cheap. If you want a great projector that matches and sometimes outmatches a lot of TV quality you are looking at about $2.5k-$20k price.

Details of the audio setup (if you don't mind) ? :D

Denon 2809ci reciever

Speakers (Klipsch Synergy setup 6.1 - 12" sub) - will be replaced with the new Klipsch XF-48 floorstanding speakers and appropriate surround speakers.

This thing just died after Boz posted his setup, not that I blame anyone :p It's like entering a dick-measuring contest where one of the contestants is a horse

Well I just finished my i7 build, so in an attempt to revive the thread I'll throw out some specs and post pics later.

Didn't buy an OS so I'm running Win 7 Beta at the moment, will format and install the RC when it's released.

I can finally play Crysis, and at max settings at that!

Moved into a new room (actually my old one) because the room I was in before is getting decorated.

Got my laptop hooked up to my TV, love the setup, wish I could've had my PC hooked up to it though, but amazingly my modern graphics card doesn't have VGA.

You can find dvi > vga adapters for pretty cheap online.

My front room! (sorry for the rubbish picture!)

Sony 40W4000 TV (best thing I ever bought!)

Sony BDP-S550 Blu-Ray Player

Microsoft Xbox 360 Premium (60GB) with WiFi Adaptor

Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500

A good, basic home cinema type setup and a console to go with it. More than happy with all of it. The speakers owe me nothing - I've had them for years :)
