UPDATE: Installed newest set of patches today and the problem seems to have resolved itself
Every PC I've encountered today running Office 2016 can't open a Word doc, or rtf file from a network share by either browsing to the file over explorer or clicking on a shortcut of the file. Whats weird is that I can open Word, browse to the file using File->open or selecting the file from recents inside Word and the file opens fine. I can also copy the file locally and it opens with no problem.
I've restarted the File Server, restarted the problem machines, checked the permissions of the shares/files. Nothing has worked. No issues with opening other file formats or browsing the network shares.
Seeing as its only with Word and it affecting all machines in the network, I'm inclined to believe this is caused by a patch....I'm hoping anyway.
