DDR SDRAM replace SDRAM

I was wonder if my intel pentium 3 mother board support DDR SDRAM 184 pin stick?

I am curious if all intel mother have DDR chipset enable or not.

I have 512 SDRAM =1(256)x2(128)

I want to add 2DDR SDRAM(256) stick if that posible.

My spec:

Gateway Performance 1000

If your system didn't come with DDR Ram then you prolly can't go with it. You'll have to get a new motherboard to support that and that would end up voiding your warranty. Either Get the new board or accept that the performance you desire is outta reach for now...

What is the most recommended mother board right now?

I am looking for top of the line mother board that support DDR SDRAM. (upgradable!)

Get either a Gigabyte GA-7DXR or a ABIT KG7-RAID . I am getting the KG7-RAID myself and can't wait to get it... I might end up getting a motherboard with the VIA KT266A chipset though. Benchmarks looks really good. Better than the 2 above mentioned boards but ofcourse it's gonna be more expensive. Anyways though, you'll prolly have to buy a new case since most name brand computers have special parts and only work in a certain case and stuff. This is only true for some motherboards though cuz they boards were custom built for that specific company and you wont find them on the open market. So just keep that in mind.

DDR Ram and P3 is a waste of time with gains of about 3-5% or nothing in most applications.. I would save your money and wait for the DDR version of the I845 Chipset with a P4 or go AMD... read www.tomshardware.com for more info

and the fact that ddr and sdram are not the same slot would make it impossible if you ever look at ddr ram it has 1 notch offset from the middle where sdram has 2 notches
