[MLB] Pudge, and Tigers agree on deal

The Tigers and Ivan Rodriguez have finally reached a verbal agreement on a four-year contract, both have reported that the two sides have agreed on a four-year, $40 million deal that includes clauses that would allow the Tigers to shorten the deal in case of injury. An announcement is expected to come on Monday.

Actually, MLB.com says that they have not reached a deal. You seem to have left a word out.

I would prefer for the Tigers to get a couple of moderately good stars than one major star but what can you do. That's why my favorite home team is the Red Wings :).

Wow, the Tigers sure are going all-out this year... I wouldn't be surprised if they're around .500 by the end of the next season. I don't think they'll be going to the playoffs, but they'll be improved.

Espn reports it as a done deal. I guess we know Pudge values money over winning. Glad the Cubs didn't get him now.

It looks like it doesn't it. This year the owners claimed that wasn't their intention. They've traded away Derrick Lee to the Cubs for little return, and just lost their best player to Detroit.

yeah pretty much, theyve still got their pitching core (Beckett, Burnett, Penny) but i wouldnt be surprised to see one of them leave too, most likely aj burnett

Tigers still don't have any pitching. I'm just happy that the Twins lost Pierzinsky (however ya spell it). Gives the Sox a step up. :happy:
