At 8:30 it didn't ask again, just updated, cleared the cache and restarted, leaving 3 hours of work gone, the Word backup files are just 127 bytes (a header only, I figure).

 

I haven't had this specific issue as I avoid Windows 10 like the Immune Deficiency Syndrome that it is, and usually save every few minutes, any idea what happened to her auto backups? She has been trying to find them for a half hour, opening every doc on her laptop so any chance of recovering a deleted file is slim....

Teaches you one thing backup and SAVE. EVERYTHING.

Yes there is.

One drive office365 auto saves automatically every second in one drive enabled folders.  You have to save the first time though to that folder. I also have revision history.
