Dell doesn't hide anything from your. They give you everything at your disposal. I have located all the docs for my Laptop from their site on how to disassemble and replace the CPU and/or take apart the whole machine. Finding docs for your computer are avalible too. :D

You didn't need to call Dell for that. :huh:

If you open up your case and see 3 white pci slots thats a MicroATX and if you see 5 or more thats ATX

my point was that they didn't tell me what i wanted to know. i wanted to know who made my mother board and what the model was...not what form factor it was...i already knew that....i hate dell :crazy:

DELL = PROPIETARY

That means you have a DELL mobo. Compatibility is limited to what the DELL engineers tested it for. Everything else is your luck. What I did to find out what I could add on to my DELL was cruise around the DELL forums. That is how I found what RAID controller works, what GFX cards, etc. etc. I mean that is the price you pay for getting a PC for bottom dollar...very little flexibility...but heh? Cheap as a bone...

He just wanted a flamewar, ignore him

NOTE AGAIN:

PSU is one thing, mobo design is an another thing

Nope, DELL mobos are proprietary. They use Intel CHIPSETS, though.

What this means is that there is very limited flexibility as far as upgrades; you are limited to what DELL has chosen.

    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog. Gotta love browser hijacking... /s Edit: this may be what Californians see, I will confirm with our consent provider.
