CPU temp too high?

Hi! So I noticed while playing the new Star Wars game Jedi: Fallen Order, my cpu temperature goes all the way to 100°C.

 

My PC specs are: i5 4690k (oc to 4.0ghz) stock cooler

MB: Gigabyte ga-z97x-gaming5

1060 6gb

2x8gb ram (1600)

ssd

Windows 7

 

So a few years ago I OC my cpu to 4Ghz. Worked just fine, no crashes or anything. I clean the dust inside, change termal paste, but it's still too high, goes to 90°C.

I have Antec case, which has two ventilators on top and one in back.

I also put all bios settings back to default, and after running Prime95 for 15 mins, I got these temps:

 

 

Is this suppose to be normal? Any advice what could I do?

You want a 3rd party cooler. Stock cooler is a POS. Or even get an AIO water cooler...

 

Think that's why you get hot temps.

For AIO's any one of the ones listed here

Just look for anything that'll fit LGA1150 sockets, also be aware of your space available in your case.

Any other good alternatives? Literally every store I looked at is out of stock!

Tj. Max is when the CPU will get throttled, it's not saying your Tj temp is 100°C. Yes, your core temps are hella high, but you can partly fix that by setting your clock speed back to stock (take off the clock). Then once you get a new HSF (I assume you can find something by Noctua on Amazon Slovenia), get some decent paste on and put the clock back up.

ypu shouldnt need to overclock that thing anyway as the boost setting will scale it to 4ghz anyways, and the stock coolers are just fine, im using one on my 4790k i7 and mine usually sits on about 80c at 4ghz when gaming, maybe check your thermal paste and reseat the cooler

oh and those temps are perfectly fine to be honest 75ish at 4 core 100% load is normal

I agree with the others.. look at a new cooler.  Watercooled is likely overkill and not worth the money to switch over..

 

Also, double check that everything is seated properly and if it is, I'd double check you put enough thermal paste on.

 

I had a PC that had a similar issue and it ended up being one of the cooler pegs had come loose while I was tightening the other 3.

Just google images of "120mm air cooler" and choose whichever one you like the most. Although make sure that your case is big enough to accommodate one, so do check the dimensions of the cooler.
