DesktopWeather Beta 2.1 available. DesktopWeather Beta 2 DOES SUPPORT GLOBAL LOCATIONS, read about it on site. Added Celsius support and the "V" Location Codes in Canada. Please READ the webpage and Read Me.txt before asking questions because most of your questions are answered there.

Currently Mirror 1 and Mirror 4 are the only places with Beta 2.1.

pagal, you can send it to the system tray already by double clicking on it and selecting "Send to Tray". If you want to exit from the app while its in the tray right click on the icon and select "Exit". If you want to exit while it is not in the tray, double click on it and select "Exit". I dont think I will add it to the tray all the time because that just takes up space.

Hey Matrox,

Two things.

1) Beta 2.1 doesn't seem to work for me. It did for a little bit, but now it can't get any of the current information. It says ERROR where the city should be and all the data is just shown as the title for each data variables, i.e day 1/date 1 instead of Tonight/Feb 11. Beta 2 still works and updates, but 2.1 doesn't. Might the registry setting from the old beta need to be deleted before the new one will work?

2) It just occured to me it mght be cool if the font could be changed within the program. Just an idea.

Great work!:D

does anyone have DesktopWeather 2.0 that worked?

I would like it.

On 2.1 I am receiveing the ERROR for almost all locations around.

Having to look at weather from Beverly Hills, CA which sucks when you are in IN.

Nobody seems to have 2.0 available for download...

Thanks in advance.

Is there any way to include the direction of the wind with the wind info? Something as simple as a "N", "SW", etc. in front of the speed would be cool.

EDIT: Also, perhaps the barometric trend. Maybe "R" for rising, "F" for falling and "S" for steady. Its a good indiction of what is coming.

DesktopWeather Beta 2.2 is available. Sorry for the trouble with Beta 2.1. It was a stupid mistake on my part. Download from the site.

Equalizer: No problem was found on the automatic update. You might want to change the Refresh Rate in options to a lower time length between updates.

DoubleJ: Great ideas. Look for them in the next release.

    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....

    • I can barely recall getting web results from a file search... I must've turned it off long ago. 26H2 is Insider's Preview build 26300.8697, which I am running, atm. It is not available for people running the standard commercial builds of Windows--only for the beta test Insider's group. But anyway, as mentioned in the thread, this feature has been around for a long time...
