just make a max bid, and if anybody trys to out bid you ebay will out bid them with your higher bid

That causes bidding wars and ups the price of the auction. Example:

Without sniping programs

Auction starts at .01

I bid $28 (my max price)

You bid $10

Auto-bid $11

You bid $12

Auto-bid $13

... ... ...

You bid $23

Auto-bid $24

You get tired and go to another auction.

I pay $24

With sniping programs

Auction starts at .01

You bid $20 and walk away

Auction is about to end, and I snipe $21

I pay $21

Its not the most concrete example, but it gets the point across. I wont use the sniping program just so I can win the auction-- I use it so that I can win the auction with the lowest price.

Thanks for the link, Pigsweeeper :)

auctionsniper has 3 free tries, then they take off like 1% of what you made and use it to pay them.. dunno.. i never really use it.. comes in handy though i guess

Yep, this is the only way to go. Make SURE you place the bid at the maxium you want to pay.
