We're having building works done in our flat. Our contractor has ran shielded CAT6 cable but there's no easy way to ground at the switch.

Do i have to have to ground this type of cable?

Will it create any problems if I don't?

(i.e. can I just cut the sheathing/drain back an leave it)

All the runs are less than 10m and I don't expect interference.

Just wondering if the shielding being there risks creating any problems.

Hello,

Wouldn't you just use shielded Cat6a connectors?  From watching this  video it seems like a fairly straightforward process.
