I have a program loading in startup, but it is not loading?

Recommended Posts

I have a program called BlueIris for monitoring my security cameras, and I have added it to the startup folder (shell:startup) and the only issue is that this program requires that it  run as admin, and I have changed the shortcut to run as admin, but it does not load now (it loaded prior to changing admin setting), but according to the taskmanager the program is running, but it is obviously not loaded and does not load until I execute it via the shortcut I have on the desktop. Is there any reason that this should be an issue, and any idea on how to fix it?

Make a scheduled task to do what you want. Setting a startup program to run as administrator in compatibility settings will not allow it to happen unattended, it would still need user interaction.

OK, I created a task to load on startup, but it did not load. The task was created and under actions it is start a program, which I have specified the path to, and under General, it is set to run only when user is logged in and tun with highest privileges.

What (if anything) is wrong with this?

I manually ran the task, and the software came up indicating that it required admin access, despite the fact that I told the task to run it that way.

Hi

It was me who mentioned BlueIris to you so I feel a sense of responsibility here.

Are you aware that BlueIris does not need the app to run at startup; it can run as a service, the app is only there to administer this service?  Hence the App wants to be run as Administrator, but that's reasonable.

Have you done any of the mobile stuff, push notifications to its mobile app?

No, the mobile app is $9.99, and reading the reviews it sounds like it's really slow and does not work very well. As far as anything else mobile, I have not tried to setup notifications, I have 2 apps that allow me to access my camera's remotely.
