Windows File Transfer waits in queue...

Recommended Posts

On recent build Windows puts file transfers in queue...

For example I try to transfer

File A to Drive A

File B to Drive B

File C to Drive C

File D to Drive D

Instead of transfering all files at the same time, it will transfer the last file first (D), once D is done it will start on C and after done with C, it starts with B etc...

Anyone know how to fix that?

Have you tried TeraCopy?

Depending on where your transferring to, that might be a good thing to help prevent fragmentation.

but if your transferring in a way that's not writing two files to the same hard drive at the same time(NOTE: I would generally avoid writing two files or more to the same hard drive at the same time to help prevent fragmentation), the last I knew on Win10, you can still force the transfer to start even though by default it queues up like you mentioned but I think you can just click it to force it to start manually.

plus, even fragmentation aside... if your reading/writing multiple files between same hard drives it will likely slow down as in cases like this your probably better off letting them transfer one at a time. that's why when I transfer stuff I only start multiple transfers if there is only one stream of data between each hard drive.... so say one has four hard drives, HDD1 to HDD2, HDD3 to HDD4 would be fine to start all at the same time and you will basically get max speed this way. but if your trying to do something like HDD1 to HDD2 and HDD1 to HDD3 it's going to slow down etc (even though in this second example you would no have issues with fragmenting since it's writing to HDD2 and HDD3 and reading from HDD1). I am sure you get the gist of what I am saying here ;)

    • Amazon Deal: These AMD RX 9070 XT GPUs are very good offers by Sayan Sen Following the release of AMD's new RX 9070 GRE last week for $549 (our review), AMD currently has a couple of great deals on the more powerful 9070 XT wherein the GPU is on sale for $650. We already covered the Gigabyte Gaming model a couple of days ago which is still live at that price. Aside from that, the white ICE variant is also at the same price (purchase link under the specs table down below). This is interesting to note considering white cards are generally more expensive as they come with a premium attached. Similar to the Gaming model, the ICE card too employs Gigabyte's WINDFORCE cooling system which combines multiple design elements such as alternate-spinning Hawk fans, a vapor chamber, and composite heat pipes to manage heat dissipation. The Server-grade Thermal conductive gel further helps in this department. The inclusion of a semi-passive cooling mode allows the fans to remain inactive under low workloads, which allows for reduced noise operation during lighter usage. There is dual BIOS switch that allows toggling between performance and silent modes. The tech specs of the card are given in the table below: Specification Value Boost Clock Up to 3060 MHz (Reference Card: 2970 MHz) Game Clock Up to 2520 MHz (Reference Card: 2400 MHz) Stream Processors 4096 Memory Size 16 GB Memory Type GDDR6 Memory Clock 20 Gbps Memory Bus Width 256-bit PCI Express Interface PCI Express 5.0 Max Resolution 7680 × 4320 Maximum Displays Supported 4 Display Outputs 2 × DisplayPort 2.1a 2 × HDMI 2.1b Card Dimensions 288 × 132 × 56 mm (L × W × H) (2.7 slot) Recommended Power Supply 750 W Power Connectors 3 × 8-pin PCIe Get it at the link below: GIGABYTE Radeon™ RX 9070 XT Gaming OC ICE 16G Graphics Card (GV-R907XGAMINGOCICE-16GD): $649.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $750) If your budget is lower, check this Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti 8GB deal out for only $330 wherein you get the latest James Bond game free. • What about it? The old MV2 version will not work.
    • Wow, this is some Iran, Cuba, China, Russia, North Korea-level citizen surveillance right there, the UK's government has gone totally mad. Power trip indeed, their politicians are totally out of control about this issue. They're starting to cross limits I wouldn't have imagined, to be honest. British people, fight this, your privacy and freedoms are in danger. Vote this government out of power.
