HARDWIRE ISSUE

I have my laptop hard wired into my laptop but it is not being recognized. What could be the issue plz? WIFI works fine. Under network connections, it says ethernet 1, 2 and 3 are unplugged and  local area network is unplugged as well. I tried disabling all 4 one at a time and still says unplugged. Tried a different cable as well. os IS WIN 10 PRO

Turn off WiFi completely. You are troubleshooting correctly by disabling the connections and that should give you an idea of what the issue is.

My computer is a desktop, but the motherboard has WiFi abilities, you will notice the highlighted connection is the actual ethernet port. Ethernet 2 is created by NordVPN and NordLynx is also from NordVPN. Look at the descriptions under each connection and then enable the one that you need. I am guessing that your laptop has a fn key combo that you can press to disable WiFi. Do that and then Windows will then realize that the Ethernet connection is there and should use it.

I'd check to make sure the other end of the cable is plugged (pushed all the way in) into the router or switch.

Huh? you mean you have your laptop hardwired into your router?

 

As like what @jnelsoninjax posted.. A screenshot showing all your interfaces might be helpful

 

My desktop has 3 wired interfaces.  2 of which do not have any gateways set. So these networks will come up as unidentified..  But you can see they are showing connected, vs showing unplugged.  And yeah its possible other interfaces can get created that you might not be actually using.  Notice the openvpn interfaces, which I have disabled unless actually using them.  I disable them so that they do not show up when I do say an ipconfig /all

 

But if your wired - there is little reason to leave your wifi on, especially if its actually connected.
