Yeah I quite like these eastern live actions coming to Netflix lately. Quite enjoyed Alice in Boarderland too and hope that gets another season.

I've only watched the 1st episode of this so far and it shows promise and I've heard the first few episodes are the slowest so should be interesting.

Alice in Borderland is next on my list, I might start that tonight.

Finished it last night.  Give the show a 9 out of 10.  Liked the twist at the end ... didn't see it coming (though thinking back, I probably should have).  Hope it gets a second season.

Started Alice in Borderland ... so far it is also pretty good.

I liked the premise and after the first episode I felt it totally fit into my style of show I enjoy...

But found it to became a bit repetitive pretty quickly with some annoying and ultimately futile characters.  The "twist" at the end wasn't great either, utterly predictable from the 2nd episode.

I really don't understand people's fascination with such shows...

If characters get killed as part of an action drama then fine... But this is.... I dunno... Is a show depicting senseless murders really that entertaining?  Sure, it's shining a light on the real life murders for organs going on in certain parts of the world (which I'm sure many people will deny is even happening), but as ENTERTAINMENT?!  Is this what we've become?

Not everyone is the same when it comes to media consumption but why they like these shows isn't hard to figure out.  You call it senseless,  but I don't see how it looks that way.      There's a clear purpose behind why characters are there, money, the games are done for money (gambling).     You could call it a character study I suppose,  taken to it's extremes.     As far as why people watch these shows, oh I don't know, why do they watch slasher flicks or all the "gore fests" that get made?   How many Saw movies did we really need?

The show does enough to leave you asking questions, why are characters there anyways?  Who's actually going to make it?  Who is behind it?   All the why, what, where, when and how are present and keep you drawn in.  The extreme nature of it all and the shock value just makes it stand out more.

If you're worried about how this makes viewers look as a whole, why?   It's fiction,  it's a show.    Probably not for everyone, and that's fine.   I wouldn't go around trying to label viewers in some sort of negative light because they happen to like these types of shows/movies.

Just finished Episode 6 - Gganbu.  Wow, that one had the feels.  :(

That's the one that hit me in the gut. I told my co-worker before he watched it that that episode was the one that hits you hard.

I'm less worried about how it makes viewers look, and more how it's de-sensitizing society to horrific acts of senseless violence.  Perhaps it bothers me because people being murdered for their organs is actually really happening in some parts of the world, and turning that horror into an entertainment is just... wrong.

I don't see how this specific example is any worse than thousands of others.  Odd soapbox you've got there.

    • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
