(This link is for ARM processors but apparently the OP states its probably valid for other platforms)

(*From OP) I too am having issues with my Edge DEV on Ubuntu 20.04.3, my version is 96.0.1032.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit)

It appears that the last Edge upgrade, is causing illegal calls at the CPU. I did some research and it appears to be an illegal call

being made at the CPU. What I'm getting are, SOME tabs that give me this message (See enclosed .JPG file)

Just use Chromium. Edge is based of that..

Any reason why you need Edge?

Just personal preference is all. I have all of my bookmarks and everything sync'd for some time. I'm older now. Slower.

I don't like fussing with stuff.

added: I did inform Microsoft of this through feedback

I'm also getting this error on current build. In fact the neowin home page does it for me.

Sites that I know do it:

* Any text article on news.sky.com

* Any item listing on amazon.co.uk

Slightly odd that it will only be certain pages on each site tho.
