is there a software that can turn off monitor and turn on with a keystroke like macos for windows ?

Question

Hi

there are several software to turn off the monitor/display  on demand, but it's enough a very light mouse vibration to turn in on

is there a software that can turn off the monitor/disaply ,maybe disable the mouse and turn on with a keyboard key stroke

under mac is better ,it could be turned off using the corners and to turn on is enough to stroke a keyboard key

maybe a free software would be better

I have set windows to turn off the monitor after x minutes , i guess 30 minutes but i would like a software that can do on demand and keep it off

thanks

It's a command-line tool (that has a bunch of features). Simply run "nircmd monitor off" from the command line and your monitor(s) will turn off. You can also create a shortcut to it with the required parameters so you can just double click it.

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
