ASUS Router configured as Access Point... wifi extremely slow??

Recommended Posts

I'll explain my situation to you first; I have a modem from my ISP (FRITZ!Box) on the ground floor, I have an ASUS RT-AX88U router on the first floor for a few days and have now got everything working.
I have set the router as an access point, and it works fine.

• However... I notice that the speed of my Wifi is 5x slower than my old Apple router!
How can I adjust this so that I get normal WiFi speed again?

And how is this AP wired to your network.. If it was connecting at only say 100mbps via its wire, then yeah would be much slower than your typical AC or AX connection..

Depends on distance, endpoint equipment, if your ethernet cables are good, whether or not you're actually using AC or AX, etc.  You're not giving us much detail to work with here.
