Cisco Switch Problems

Hiya,

I have just bought a Cisco 1900 switch. It has got 24 10-base-t ports and 2 100mb ports.

I am connecting to it using hyperterminal through my network.

The question I ask is......are you able to edit the switch using a command line? Looking at it at the moment it only looks like you can edit settings using either the HTML page or through the menu interface.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Didn't they stop selling the 1900 series like summer of 2002?

What model number and version? Do you have an enterprise version?

edit: I do not believe the NON enterprise version of 1900's had IOS access - they can be managed by the menu, the web interface or using snmp - ie hp openview or ciscoworks, etc..
