What's My Local Account Password?

Is there a way to see in plain text what the local account password is?

When I signed in, I'm sure I sued my @outlook.com address / password.  However the local account just shows my first name.

I also used a program to auto login, so when I start the PC, it just boots to desktop.

 

Is there a way I can see what the password is?

Just trying to export all my Edge passwords is all...

You should use a dedicated password manager like Bitwarden rather than stored in a browser, try it out.

I do, but I have loads stored in the browser so wanted to back them up so I can merge them with BitWarden and then delete them all frm the browser.

 

Plus, if I reset the password, I guess this will then mess up the auto logging in of this PC too?

You don't need a program to auto log in,I used to use this command years ago.

I have them synced but I don't think there is an export option for Edge on Android.

 

Alternatively, will Windows lock me out if I continually try guessing the Admin password?
It's likely to be one of 10 so happy to try them all and see.

When you get back in maybe set up a pin number instead or alternatively store this password/pin in Bitwarden.

EDIT:  Found it.  My password is:  password.
Really thought it was "admin"

I can't find it either in Edge for Android.

 

I have 2 suggestions install another browser on your Android device that would import your passwords from Edge, this other browser would hopefully have an export feature which Bitwarden would be able to import from.

 

Or just reset your local password because if it's important to you then you need to know it.

Haha, yeah but as it automatically logs on, it doesn't matter what it is.

This is only the local account (although it is connected to my Microsoft Account, which a much stronger password).

 

For some reason, the "users must enter a username and password" box, together with Windows Hello and the pin thing, even a registry entry all stopped the auto log on from working, until I used the power toy to sort it out.
