Can't install new version of MPC-BE

I downloaded ,from Github, the lastest version of MPC-BE and when I try to install it, I get the standard UAC prompts, and I go though and check the boxes and hit install, and I get this error:

Nothing I do will convince it to install. I am considering uninstalling the current version and install this one, but want to ensure that this issue is not something else.

What troubleshooting have you done?

Have you tried to run the exe as administrator ? Looks like it is trying to write a file to a locked (system or programdata) directory...

You got it from GitHub? isn't the official download hosted on Sourceforge?

I checked, they are the same package, a binary match.

That said, @jnelsoninjaxthe error is pretty straightforward. It cannot create a file because access is denied

Which means either you are trying to install it without admin permissions, or more likely, a file is in use. Uninstall the old one first. You may be able to get away with making sure its not running.
