Ok, I know this has nothing to do with sz1's visual style, this was created by me modding my explorer.exe around. Has anyone had this problem? If so, what menus/strings/bitmaps/or whatever do I change to make it so that start button is fully showing?

Just don't lose startbutton text with your modding: use default text there.
