ive got a shell32.dll which is verison 6.0.2800.1242

this shell32.dll is being used on a sp1 system n I think there should be no probs if that verison is included in the shell pack coz that has to be the latest verison with the latest updates.

If anyone has any info on this shell32 version no. n as to why i shouldnt be using it in the shell pack, plss let me know now.

posting this here too coz i think this needs to be here too

Not sure if anybody wants them, but I whipped up a few Replacer scripts to replace the files quickly.

Howto:

1. Download Replacer (http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/)

2. Extract replacer to a directory of your choice.

3. Download the scripts and put them in their respective directories.  I.E. apps.txt goes in the Applications folder, cpls.txt goes in the CPLs folder and dlls.txt goes in the DLLs folder after unzipping the G.A.N.T. Pack.

- Apps Script

- CPLs Script

- DLLs Script

4. Drag the scripts, one at a time, onto the Replacer.cmd icon.  The Replacer program will run and tell you how many files it will replace.  If it says it cannot find a file, then you probably don't have the file on your computer and don't worry about it.

Reboot and enjoy!

How do you undo/restore back the old icons without naming all the xxxxx.backup files?

The word RESTORE can be used to restore a file from a backup copy, if it was previously replaced using Replacer:

CODE

notepad.exe,RESTORE

Thanks s7evyn :)

There is a 1242 and thats for sure. I think it will be better to stick with the latest version coz if i use the 1233 one, the people with 1242 will be prompted to download the update again and again which updated them to 1242, which will get their icons back to the xp ones.

They will always have a problem with the 1233 shell version, whereas the 1233 verison ppl wont have a problem with the 1242.
