The only way i could stand a Barbie movie is if it was like a Paul Verhoeven i.e. on surface cute but with an hidden political satire most dumb people would not get. You know like Starship Tropper and the people who still think it's an action movie while it's a political satire. While i like Greta Gerwig as a director somehow i doubt she could achieve this level of hidden satire in a movie. It's probably blunt. I might be wrong who knows?

Surprisingly, this is not a movie for young girls who would actually play with Barbie.

There are quite a few jokes that only adults would understand.

Greta Gerwig has managed to make Barbie (film) into a satire of Mattel itself.
