Gaming Chair recomendations...

Recommended Posts

I didn't buy a gaming chair , per see, I bought a good ergonomic chair. Herman Miller to be precise.

The Embody model, though yeah it's the gaming version colaboration with Logitech, but it's essentially the same as the non-gaming. Just found the gaming version bit cheaper
That chair was for the office.

For home I bought the Herman Miller Aeron.

For my employees, I  also bought them Herman Miller. Between used and new, got them other models (Mirra 1 and 2, Sayl, Celle,  and Verus).

Before buying my first Herman Miller chair, I dedicated around 50 hours of research. Why? Because of the price, I was sceptical of the quality/brand. After almost 2 years, my back, my legs and my employee's health has been much better.

PS if you go Herman Miller route. DO NOT get the 'Vantum' gaming chair. IT"S CRAP.

I had been using a Serta office chair for years but when the arm finally broke off of it last year I purchased a Secret Labs Titan Evo XL and its Wonderful, its a bit pricey but they appear to run sales nearly constantly

I will state that if you are looking for something squishy or cushioned this is NOT the chair for you, its pretty firm (which is what I like)

Actually was looking at that one, hows the magnetic head pillow? does it stay in place well?

Did you get the fake leather or cloth?

On the Verta I had the fake leather rip at seams twice, Verta replaced it once for free, second time they sold me a part at discount.

Magnetic Pillow is fine the only times it falls off is when the Cat things she can sit on it.

I went with Cloth due to the cat, she claws at it and it hasn't messed it up yet, my old leather chair was completely destroyed by her clawing on it.

Can only speak for myself, but I am still rocking an Anda Seat https://www.neowin.net/reviews/anda-seat-kaiser-2-review--finally-a-gaming-chair-for-big-people/

I haven't had a reason to upgrade yet, because it is still like new, but if I do upgrade I would be looking for one with built in lumbar support and a magnetic neck pillow

I used to go through $150 chairs every year 😛 So 2.5 years (so far) is quite good for me.

Thanks for suggestion, but ~1500 is way to much for a chair.

I'm looking for something in $350-600 range.

Yeah I get it, it's pricey.
They are built like a tank though...so you won't replace them, almost never.
From the used ones that bought my employess, got a  2004 , a 2007 and a 2008. Other than minor details, they work just as fine.

There's also Haworth and Steelcase brands.
All 3 brands have 12 year warranty. Pretty much pays for itself.

Which buying from the used market ain't a bad option either.

If you spend more than an hour or two at a time in it, do NOT get a gaming chair. Get an office chair, which are designed for 7+ hour days and will provide much better support and comfort.  Trust me, they're well worth the money to get a decent one.

You can get a used Herman Miller Aeron for the price range you're looking for.

I bought both my Aeron's used and they are literally older than my kids, who are now in high school. Buy something of quality one time and it will last you nearly a lifetime. The only fix I've made to this chair is replacing the under leg bolster which was $20 and 5 minutes of time. Otherwise mechanically, this chair is perfect in every way.

    • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
    • i backup my files, incl keepass to my proton drive using Syncback which i paid for (thanks Warwagon!). they have a free version but i can't remember what it does and doesn't do anymore. anyways, it's really, really simple and easy to use. i also periodically keep backups of my keepass onsite especially when i've changed or added a password that is important to me. if you don't wanna spend time on the syncthing setup, get syncback. haha i even got my dad to use it for his backups to usb and he doesn't even need my help!!! (thank god!)
