Just curious, for those of you who have/drive motorcycles, why do you feel the need to rev the engine when you are at a full stop? What do you get out of it?

Thx

I have been riding street bikes for 45 years, this is from my experience.
It takes an hour of riding not idling to fully warm up the engine, it is starting to get warm in 20 minutes.
If the engine is cold and the oil is not brand new and you are at a stop light you may need to rev it a little to keep it running.
It might need a tune up.
When it is fully warm it will usually idle with out stalling.
You don't want it to stall in traffic.
