custom antenna for a Pico-based off-grid project - without drawing too much power?

I’m considering using a 2.4 GHz RF module with a custom antenna for a Pico-based off-grid project.

What’s a good way to design or choose an antenna for better range without drawing too much power?

 

Friends - i am interested in your thoughts,

any and all input and thought here  is greatly appreciated.

As per your other thread - detail is missing in this post but could maybe be assumed from that thread - you wish to direct traffic to one specific known location and not broadcast in every direction - is that correct?

Many thanks Dick, for the reply.

I whish to transmit to a specific location.

 

So that could be very important and has impact on the antenna. And besides that, I think that we can save some energy here.

I believe that TPLink do a range of outdoors directional antennae

I will have a closer look at the TPLink- antennas - especially the ones that have a directional characteristic.
