A prequal series to Stephen King's IT. The show centers on what seems to be the origins of IT’s supernatural villain Pennywise the Clown and the first crop of kids to ever take him down and Bill Skarsgard will reprise his role as Pennywise the Clown

But it does look interesting. Is there a need for backstory on IT though?

If it's a true origin story of Pennywise it is worth it.  If they are just going to re-tell the story just in an early era then no.  I'll watch none the less 🤡

This won't be an origin story. Pennywise landed millions of years ago, not 1962.

I've never seen IT but have heard of it. This seems interesting and I could watch the prequel first

Really enjoyed the first episode ... ending had me going WTF (in a good way).

...those kids had no plot armor ... the opposite of plot armor really. 

I really thought they were rehashing the "Losers' Club" ... but NOPE.

Nothing beats the book, but you could watch the movie for a primer.

First episode: too much swearing and foul language.  kids back then didnt use language like this at all.

Awesome, and WILD, first episode.  2nd episode is streaming early starting today to coincide with Halloween.
