With how good Superman turned out it will only help with Supergirl IMO.   I don't expect huge box office numbers, but if the DCU can be steady with the quality of it's movies then it'll bring in more over time.  Plus I expect the TV shows on HBO Max to be solid as well.

A good sign is that Supergirl filming has ended and it is now in post-productions; editing, visual effects, etc. Such an extended period improves the odds it'll be a quality production. The cast is good, so we're down to the script and direction.

Grew up with Superman in the 80s and did not like the original Supergirl (1984) movie. Tried to get into Supergirl on CW but I stopped watching halfway through the first season. I can't remember exactly what it was that stopped me, but that was it for me. Watched all of Superman on CW, liked it a lot even though the last season or two got too mushy for my liking.

It's odd that Superman got a rating of 7.8 and only got 4 seasons, whereas Supergirl is rated at 6.2 and got 6 seasons!

They were shite, movies and tv, they've always cast well though. I've always liked the supergirls actresses but the stories portrayed have been terrible. Shame because supergirl comics have had good stories.. hopefully the new one will be better

Since it's Gunn in control and he knows his comics inside and out I don't worry about the scripts.  They're pulling from one of the best Supergirl comics out there for the movie, I expect it'll turn out good.

From what read is that a) DC didn't want two different Supermans running at the same time (find that excuse BS) and b) CW didn't want to continue with superhero shows anymore.

Speaking as someone who doesn't read comics and is not a Marvel fan. I didn't mind some of the early movies, but after a few I got bored. I do actually like the occasional DC movie and I do like the old Superman & Batman films. I even didn't mind Superman 2025, it was decently entertaining and fun.

This looks utterly awful. She seems so unlikeable, just a pile of cringeworthy memes slapped together into a character.

But I am definitely not the target audience.

supergirl should be super cute, not ..someone available and cheap actress in California (or even cheaper bring her from australia)

People who know the comic the movie is based off of will understand her personality in the trailer.  The plot of the movie will explain it and her growth.  Some of you need to relax.   Good movies can have bad trailers and terrible movies can have great trailers.  You won't know which is which till you actually see the movie.

So they definitely got HER right, I shall await the rest of the movie to fill in some of the detail.

Single, lonely nerd comments on female's appearance in a comic-book adaptation it's almost memeworthy if it wasn't so sadly pathetic.

....Krypto was the best part of Superman (the movie was otherwise boring and the story itself was dumb, IMO).

Not sure about this one either...looks like just another run of the mill superhero movie.  Perhaps it's just fatigue...

Krypto is a good CGI boy though.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
