I finally managed to get into this this weekend just gone. Have wishlisted it and following the KS.

Loved the game/atmosphere! Very creept and whilst it took me a while to understand how it plays but it's been great so far.

Do you think you'll have a bit more of a intro/tutorial for those that haven't played anything similar to this?

In the article on Neowin you also mentioned 6 (I think) albums, do these present the levels? How many film canisters per level?

Excited to check out the demo for Steam Next Fest! Going to keep working on

Spoiler

escaping the basement for now!

I really loved the atmosphere of the game! You've totally nailed that. It's not the type of game I’d normally play, so took me a while to figure things out.

The game works really well on Steam Deck like gaming handhelds with a few tweaks too.

On a Legion Go (Ryzen Z1 Extreme) running SteamOS 3.9 I could play at 60fps in high detail once FSR was enabled. I had the game limited to 1280x800 with a 20w TDP. 1920x1200 was possible with a higher TDP, however the above seemed a good balance for a handheld gaming device.

Certainly interested in playing Dark Rooms more in the future :)

Thanks! Yes I do plan on adding some toggleable tutorials as well as a puzzle difficulty setting in the future, I won't be able to make it for the upcoming Steam Next Fest but I'm aiming for the one in October for sure. The plan is to have 120 rooms in total (6 albums, 20 per album, 5-10 per film roll)

And since you guys are so nice I'll share screenshots of some of the rooms I've been remodeling for an upcoming update!image.thumb.jpg.f69d537879e881e8b73a7577cac5c88f.jpg

Love it! Keep up the great work!

Will keep at the demo and keeping my eyes on whatever comes next!

Started implementing weapons! Here's a little sneak peek! 👀

Animation was done inside of Unreal Engine using Control Rig! Really useful tool, I don't have to go back and forth between Blender and UE, you can basically make tweaks while the game is running.
