Username doesn't show in task manager

Recently, I noticed my Task Manager had stopped displaying my user name next to the user processes or system by system processes. Any idea what would cause this? XP Pro SP1 all updates

Felix_da kat, go to run and type services.msc then try enabling Terminal Services either in manual(I recommend) or in auto mode. You might have to reboot your computer for the service to restart or you can click the Start button when you right click and go to properties of Terminal Services. That should do it I believe.

Try closing the task manager, and re opening it. I have my task manager set to open up and minimize on startup, and sometimes, it does not record the user name.

tragic, thanks mate, no restart needed. Very pro. I went service killing a couple of days ago trying to figure out what was causing my slow bootup. was my avg.. also slow bootup again today; too many fonts, i was experimenting heh. thanks all :)

You are a god-send Tragic187. Just found this through a forum search.

Any idea what actually causes this to happen?

I did a regclean run, and also disabled automatic updating service....but that is all, after a restart I needed to do this fix.
