MS Multimedia Keyboard questions....

Recommended Posts

I today recieved my nice shiney new ms multimedia keyboard.. :D

I have installed the drivers...

But when i click on the messenger icon Yahoo Messenger launches and not msn

I've looked under the settings but the only messenger program available to assigned to the messenger button is yahoo, why isnt msn there?

Also when using the multimedia buttons why is it that sometimes you can move your tracks on when the player isnt in focus on the screen, then other times you have launch the program so that the playlist is in focus.... surely you shouldnt have to do this... defeats the whole object of having these buttons...

maybe the latest drivers will put this rite????

Cheers

No, you can change it by using the IntelliType software. It's not in the drivers, folks!! :p

I knew that was there, but msn messenger was not included in the list, i had to update the drivers to the latest for it to become available.... but as for the media playback it has to be driver releated :(

5.0 should be the newest version. I just got the Natural Multimedia a month ago. It's working perfect for me. Just like dougkinzinger said, use the edit button and you can maunally put the path and filename of the program you want to run for that button. Hit edit in the config, then hit the "Start a Program, Web page, or file" bubble. Right now I have the messenger button open up Trillian. As for the media buttons, (play, stop, next, ect) I didn't change any of the default settings and it works for Winamp 5. I have no problem playing Warcraft3 and controlling Winamp in the game.

The best way to go about it (well for iTunes & Winamp I know it works) is download the exe controls for the play functions (if your using iTunes I can send them your way) and use Intellitype software to make the keys point to the exe files, works like a charm. Trust me, I went from a $60 Logitech Elite keyboard to a $35 MS Multimedia keyboard and I'll never use a logitech keyboard again. It takes maybe 5 mins to set up the Intellitype software to your liking, but MS keyboards kick ass! Mind you, I'll never part with my MX700 :D lol

Just saw ur last post, media player should be fine with the latest software installed  that's weird if ur havin trouble
