problems

My cat decided to chew my power cable and then it shocked my motherboard and wrecked it. my power supply fried but at least it was on warranty.

 

the motherboard and cpu and gpu were wrecked(all still had the 30 day amazon warrenty still), but the ram made it( took it to a computer store and they stress test it)

so i was thinking of just getting another motherboard and the same cpu . intel core ultra 5 245kf and z890 then i saw black Friday sales and cyber monday sales.

 

i have a Dell 27 Plus 4K Monitor - S2725QS - 27-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) 120Hz

i was thinking of going to amd or the older generations of intel 12,13 or 14(heard they were better then the new ones)

 

would my 6400mhz cl38 ram work on those platforms?  i want to use my ram as it cost me 131 bucks 32gb . right now 6000mhz cl30 is over 600 bucks.

i have few video cards im looking at.

9060 xt 8gb

9060 xt 16gb

5060 ti 8gb

Before people can suggest what motherboard to get it's important to know if your RAM is compatible with both Intel and AMD.

DDR5 is sold as EXPO (AMD), or XMP (Intel) only these days but there is also DDR5 RAM that are capable of providing both XMP and EXPO profiles so you aren't limited to just AMD or Intel.

You will still be able to use the RAM on an incompatible CPU, but it will get locked to 4800MHz without the EXPO or XMP profiles. 

So let us know the model number of the RAM (or the link to where you bought it).

yes you need to tell us the exact RAM model, the long alpha-numeric product code, coz we have to ensure that particular kit is on the QVL.

among those the 9060 xt 16gb if you are primarily gaming (it was on our best desktop GPUs list), but if it's for specific workloads like Blender then Nvidia will be better.

no worries guys. i got the amd 7600x with motherboard for free. i decided to order it and then amazon lost it. so i requested a refund and then it got delivered today. amazon said that i can keep it for free. so i saved about 500 bucks.
