Kensington VeriMark Fingerprint key & Windows 11 hibernation; doesn't worlk

Question

I'll have a Kensington VeriMark Fingerprint key, but is doesn't work (fully) on Windows 11.
I have contacted Kensington on this - they even send out a new one (plus I also swapped a previous version).

When my notebook goes into hibernate, the fingerprint scanner doesn't work. Even with the help of Kensington Support.

It happens when I:

Lock Windows (by means of Windows key – L)

Leave the computer & do not touch anything until it goes into hibernation

Wake up the computer and try to log in using the fingerprint. This is not possible as you cannot use the Fingerprint Key scanner no more. I get the following error (see printscreen).

Plugging the USB out of my notebook and put it back in, solves the issue. But that's not how it should work.
(Re)booting and immediately afterwards use the fingerprint key works.

I have all latest drivers installed.

Do you guys know what to do?

I searched and it looks like Hibernate is already ticked off. My assumption on this, is not right apparently.
It looks like it has to do with Sleep Mode.

The only option I see in Power Options is:

Come to think of it... I also have Asus Armoury Crate installed which also manages power settings of some kind. Might this software interfere with this situation?

It seems like changing unticking 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in the Fingerprint key Device Manager settings did the trick.

At least for now, and a couple of tests locking the stay and let my notebook stay quiet for some time afterwards, then waking up.

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
