Hi all - just installed Windows 11 on my new system by using as well my outlook-account. Everything went well.. installed all my software and uninstalled as well OneDrive (cause I'm using GDrive).

The idea is that Documents & Pictures default folder from W11 does contain files from my OneDrive.. even I've removed it earlier. Those files are not accesible and can't be removed - there're only tracks (due to the symbol of the files).

1. How can I remove them locally? Yes.. does take a few gigs. It's safe to do that?

2. Are related to my account?

Thanks for any info.

Error from removing them (locally).

  • Cosmin changed the title to OneDrive still alive.. locally

the best bet is to go into onedrive, and unlink your account from it, manually delete the files, locally, go into onedrive website and delete the folder, and then re-enable the sync on the onedrive app on the PC.

We run into this sort of thing all the time at work, sometimes you even end up with entire folder syncs that get stuck in limbo until you do the disable delete dance.
