Hello All

some reason the retaining clip came out of where the battery connector plugs into on my Asus TUF A16 (FA617NT-A16.R7700)    Should i attempt to put back with Tweezers, then reseat the cable properly, then close up the bottom case, and i should be fine.

Or would i be better off taking to Professional computer shop

Right now it won't run on battery, and blinks

I turned it off immedately til i decide how to handle this fully

Hope someone has some good advice on what actually to do lol

Personally, I do not think that putting back the retaining clip will hurt anything as long as you do so carefully. I would make sure that the connections are seated well. I do not think that there is any real danger here. Make sure that the laptop is unplugged and you ground yourself to avoid static electricity.  If the problem persists, then you could take it to a repair place.

Yeah i was gonna try with a pair of Plastic Tweezers from one of my Toolkits  to get it back into its proper position, then its just reseating the battery cable fully, and i hopefully good after that i'm praying

Update:

Laptop now fixed!,  working well thus far with everything seemingly back to normal!!      Wasn't too easy with even the tweezers getting that piece back into its proper spot, but i finally did it, and battery is fully detected now--no blinking Amber light at all,  Fully charged it shows as well.

Overall all should be good now i think, as long as the retaining clip doesn't come loose again and the battery cable comes loose--and then got more problem lol.

    • never mind the video had a couple swear words... gosh it was funny!
    • It's expensive, but I bet it will still sell out just like the Steam Deck and the Steam Controller
    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
