It's crazy how many people are still using Windows Live mail.

So many people are still death gripping that out of date email client that hasn't has an update since 2016.

You recommend they switch to something else but they don't care.

If someone was a malicious person, they would try to reverse Engineer Windows Live Mail looking for some type security vulnerability, especially the 0 click kind. Probably Utilizing AI.

Then send out a large wave of emails.

If one is found, they would infect so many people

The thought of using an email client that hasn't had an update since 2016 gives me the heebie jeebies.

How many people do you know that still use Windows live mail?

  • +Warwagon changed the title to Windows Live Mail : If someone was malicious

Outlook Express → Windows Live Mail → Windows 10 Mail → Outlook (Classic) Abandonware → New Coke (Outlook New)

Microsoft certainly hasn’t helped getting people settled on a decent mail client over the years.

oh it goes even further back before Outlook Express....... who remembers Windows Messaging? (predates outlook, was the exchange client)

The number of customers I see on a weekly basis that are paying for M365 or Home and Business office just to get Outlook Classic instead of "New" Outlook just go connect their old RoadRunner Email disturbs me.
