synaptics touchpad not working properly

Hey,

I recently bought a new laptop. But I'm having some problems with the touchpad. Windows xp loads the drivers when the laptop boots and in the system tray I have a tool to define some usefull stuff: scrolling, clicking, shortcuts... But after working a bit on the laptop, suddenly a box pops up saying the driver was deactivated because another device was found. Then I can't move the mouse for 1 second and then it goes again. But all my stuff I defined in the tool of the touchpad doesn't work anymore and other shortcuts are defined in the corners of the mousepad. I updated the drivers and still the same thing.

Another problem that might be connected to this one is going in sleep mode and standby. When waking the laptop from one of the modes (both give the same problem) everything looks ok. But the problem is that my touchpad nor the keyboard works. Connecting an external mouse on the ps2 port doesn't work. I would like to use the stand by mode but it isn't really usefull now...
