I wanted to stick it in here because it's especially for digital cameras :p I remember downloading this a while back so I can make a theme from the interface  but now I've actually got a digital camera Spyder told me to grab it. This piece of software is so damn good  I love it, I haven't found a flaw in it yet.

I love the orginization of it all, it's very iPhoto, right down to the way you can zoom into and out of the thumbnails with the slider at the bottom and the albums down the left hand pane. The search function is absolutely instant, iTunes style thanks to the database which stores all the photo information:

There's a cool slideshow feature, with all the pictures fading in and out of one another, it'd be cool to be able to export a slideshow as a screensaver :woot:

Another extension of the slideshow feature is the Timeline, very swish and as wel all know, we all love eye candy  The interface is full of little subtle fades and animations which just adds to the goodness! It can all be turned off but why would you? :shifty:

Here's the editing pane, as you can see it's pretty similar to iPhoto  but I'm not complaining in the slightest

And here's a screenie of the print dialog, very cool and is pretty good at allowing you to manipulate the layout and format of prints. It's come in real handy so far

And lastly the import dialog, I've got Picasa to automatically import my photos and it organises them real nicely in subfolders as well, named to match the album. The X on the thumbnail means I've already imported it so I'm only grabbing new images every time, another handy little feature:

Sooooo, everyone with a digital camera, I demand you download this software :| it's ranking up there with one of my favorite pieces of software ever :woot:

I've only had an old version of iPhoto and it was pretty good, although slow. But I can't remember liking it as much as this, it's just such a cool piece of software. I've been sorting into albums, adding keywords and it's all nicely organised. Another cool thing is any adjustments you make to the photos in Picasa will always be remembered and always made to a copy. So you could crop and enhance a photo, come back a week later and just press undo and it'll resort back to normal, so goddamn cool.

Yeah it is great isn't it :)

I've been using it for at least a year and it is my favorite tool to manage my digital camera shots.

I use it along with ACDSee (v5), ACDSee for fast viewing of individual images and Picasa for photo management.

Picasa does lack a couple of features that would be usable, but it is a very young application with a lot of potential. Version 2.0 should be out before the summer and I am really looking forward to it.

5 star program if you ask me.

    • Here is how to watch Apple's WWDC 2026 conference where iOS 27 is expected by Taras Buria It is Monday, June 8, 2026, which means today is the day Apple kicks off its annual Worldwide Developer Conference, WWDC 2026. As usual, today's keynote will be full of consumer and developer-focused announcements, including new versions of Apple's operating systems, developer tools, and more. Apple streams its developer conferences, allowing everyone to tune in and watch the announcements live. Today is no exception, so here is how you can watch it. Apple WWDC 2026 will be available to watch on Apple's official website here. Also, you can stream it on YouTube and the Apple TV app on your Apple device. The stream kicks off at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM GMT+1. Apple's annual developer conference usually focuses on new software experiences, so do not expect major hardware announcements. What is expected is the "27" series of Apple's operating systems, including iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and macOS. Apple is unlikely to introduce major UI changes, but you can expect subtle tweaks to the Liquid Glass design language, particularly on Mac. One of the biggest changes Apple plans to announce today is a reworked, AI-powered Siri. The assistant will be available as a standalone app with a chatbot-like experience and Google's AI models under the hood. If you want to learn more about what is expected today at WWDC 2026, check out our dedicated article here. However, if you prefer a spoiler-free stream, tune in at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT on Apple's official website, its YouTube channel, or the Apple TV app.
    • For we consumer readers, it would be helpful if you clearly stated in the headline if the article is about consumer or enterprise. Then readers will know if the article applies to them or not. 2 cents.
    • At the moment I have my main PC and a test PC on my work desk. The test PC is also not inverted so I am not looking at the glass panel side, which is irritating.
    • I'm glad you posted this clarification of the cause of so-called Windows 11 update problems that too often appear in the article headlines.. In the future, it would be better to readers if you took your time, did the analysis before posting an article about Windows problems, which end up being a waste of time. Just saying.
    • Nah. They'll milk the current generation in terms of design - controllers, consoles, but no meaningful hardware improvements. This is one reason why people aren't buying Xbox hardware - it's stagnant.
